The most efficient way to pack orders is to break up the process into three jobs. 

Pick items first...



Sort orders second...



Final step pack items and print shipping label



By batching your orders into bigger groups and picking items all at once you reduce the amount of time it takes to walk and get items from shelves.  If you batch orders occording to warehouse location one worker can pick 600 items in a day. 

Next by sorting second straight into the box the order will be shipped into allows two workers to sort and complile all the orders in very little time.  This second sorting scan provides you with proof that your order items where picked correctly.

Finally when the packer does the third scan on the items in the box it provides a triple check that your order was picked complete.  Then when the final item is scanned, a shipping label prints out and the customer recieves their second email with their tracking information and the good news that there order is on its way.
